Sample federal 1983 complaint

This was a successful complaint that made it through appeal. The case settled.

This is a Florida action but generally all federal complaints are the same. Of course you would need to insert local state law.

There is a second complaint below it that also proved successful in litigation.

The wording is very important in federal 1983 complaints. This is not a one size fits all but it is a complaint that is slick and simple and to the point.

Note - 1983 actions may also be filed in state court. Federal court is tough, but it seems clear to us federal is a real court.
